Like "Avatar"? Want to be an Avatar??

If you want to engage students to share their ideas in yet another form, try using avatars. Students can personalize and create avatars through voki.com.
They up to 90 seconds to create their avatars... which will say their message (ie: voice responses... thereby fulfilling speaking component of the curriculum) in their voice... only if it's created that way.

Now what?? Students can embed their avatar link from the voki website to their student blog. My classroom as you know uses kidblog.org.

Need an audience?? Get students to listen to eachother's avatar messages and comment either in writing... or why not create another avatar??

What's the point of all this?? Get students to exercise their speaking skills. Explore the importance of punctuation in speech writing or the essentials in how to write a short speech.

Students will each have to create their own voki account, or teachers can have an account that many will work from...
